Anticipate interruptions

It is ideal to think that there will be no disturbance during the day.  In reality, there could be interruptions such as excessive traffic, under cooperation, power failure, vehicle break down etc.  As we get up in the morning, think as to what are the things, which are likely to go wrong and anticipate them.  Don't become too pessimistic.

Your newspaper and other sources of information can throw some light.  Anticipating interruptions will help you to plan your day despite external situation.  Anticipation is different from "looking forward to".  Don't "look forward" to interruptions, which will make you pessimistic.  When you start anticipating what could go wrong, you get an opportunity to take counter measures.

Improve your speed of reading.  Attend a speed-reading seminar or read a book on speed-reading.  Information explosion is taking place and every day our knowledge is becoming obsolete.  After reading a book, you mark the start time and end time and calculate your current speed of reading expressed in terms of words per minute.  After reading a book on speed reading and practicing various exercises, notice the difference.

Reduce overlong telephonic calls.  Notice who engaged you in long telephonic conversation and have an action plan for ideas to cut the duration short without spoiling the relationship.  Some of the ways to end such long conversation could be:

"Thank you very much, I do not want to take anymore of your time."

"I am glad that you spoke to me, I will call you back when you are not

busy."

Please note that the issue has to be tackled without sound ling to be

arrogant.
